Character Perspectives
Rich vs. Poor: In many episodes there are the perspectives of the rich, to the poor. In many cases the Simpsons are the poor because they are living the middle class life. So they are sandwiched between the very rich, and the homeless. In one episode for example, the Simpsons go broke and end up living in a homeless shelter where they learn what it is like to live as the less fortunate. In another episode though, Bart (the eldest) gets a taste of what it's like living as a super rich. To be honest, I want that life too, it looked pretty sweet. Old vs. Young: In many episodes the show also described what it would be like to be really old and in a retirement home. This was very awkward and sad how they showed the old people. They made all the old people tell really crazy stories, such as Superman racing the FBI around the world and the how the FBI won the race by a furlong and things like that. The show shows children as little miracles, very stupid, and sometimes very smart. Authority Figures: In the Simpsons, the writers expose that most of the time authority figures don't know all the answers and are clueless sometimes. |
Viewer Perspectives
Men vs. Women: Men would find this show in many places very funny. Such as when they would say bad words at the right time. While some women would find the show inappropriate and rude in the sam places men would find it funny. Children vs. Adults: I've learned that not many kids under nine years of age would be allowed to watch this show much less have opinions on it, so instead I'm going to talk about the children who are at least twelve to fourteen years of age. In most places where many adults would find it rude and disrespectful, kids would find it very funny, and in places where adults would find the show funny, kids just wouldn't know what is going on. Viewer Interviews: Most people say that they like the Simpsons better Family Guy because the show helps us laugh at ourselves and things that make us feel down and have a clear plot rather than having no clear plot and not just random jokes that are funny but make no sense like Family Guy. |
